Exclamation How to increase ability to become lucid in the middle of the dream?

Um... I've been having some trouble actually getting into lucid dreams while falling asleep... But what's been happenig lately is that I become lucid during a dream... But only for a few seconds... So how can i increase my ability to become lucid DURING a dream, and STAY lucid?

To increase time in a lucid dream, you use dream stabilization techniques. I will give you some of the most popular ones people use

      1. Touch: Touch everything around you the minute you become lucid Touch the floor, the walls, buildings, grass, act. This will help "anchor" yourself in a dream.
      2. Spinning: Once a dream starts to look blurry or less vivid, spin around rapidly with your arms out for a good 10-20 seconds. You might end up in a completely different place, but the dream will re-stabilize.
      3. Look down at your hands and yell "Clarity Now!" when you look up, things should look more vivid and stable.
      4. Diving: When a dream is beginning to end, or whenever, dive into the ground. You will probably reach complete blackness, but than a completely new dream will open up. This is similar to DEILD in the sense that you can chain dreams.
      5. Rubbing Hands: If you become lucid in a blurry dream, or the dream is ending, rub your hands vigorously and the dreamscape will re-stabilize.

Note that not all of these techniques work for everyone! Try each one to see what works best for you. Hope this helped!

Your lucid dreams will get longer as you get more experience. My first one was only about 10 seconds but now they're 5-10 minutes and sometimes longer. Another thing you could do is actually not doing something: don't do anything extreme. In your first few lucids when you're still getting used to how it feels don't do anything which causes large amounts of stresses on your body such as base jumping without a parachute () and other large feats. Just stick to flying/using powers/fistfights for now then progress into the more intense things.

Ohey there nova! Great to see you around on the forums :3

Anyway, here's a link that pretty much sums up techniques on stabilization. Good luck!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

The problem is that I never actually become fully lucid and remember to stabilize the dream. I know how to do so, but it just doesn't hit me.

Awww for now I would suggest working on your awareness as much as you can. If you can improve it, then you'd be more aware in your dreams. And when that happens, you will have more focus once you are lucid. Good luck and have fun
