      Help remembering dreams

Does anybody know of any ways for vivid dream recall? I've only had one dream where I could remember anything and that was on my first night trying. I've now gone three nights in a row without any memory of dreaming. I've tried the trick of telling myself and all that but nothing seems to work and I'm becoming very disappointed. Thanks in advance

      This is an easy one!
First off, keep a dream journal! It is essential for having vivid dream recall. When you wake up in the morning write everything you can remember about your dreams in a notebook, iPhone, computer, anything. You MUST have one! The second you wake up however, you should not move move or open your eyes, and try to remember everything that happened in your dreams the past night, than log them in your dream journal. Whats also important is that you don't get frustrated or discouraged if you don't remember dreams on certain nights. Thats probably whats happening to you. You are so stressed out and frustrated that you have not been remembering dreams. That KILLS dream recall. Wake up gradually and in a good mood. Don't wake up anxious to remember your dreams, or else you will loose them. Good luck!

I usually have bad memory, but because of my dream journal, my dream recall ability has improved immensely.

I agree with the previous repliers. A dream journal is crucial for dream recall. Especially if you're just starting out. At first, it will seem really hard to recall your dreams, and you will get frustrated. I think it would help if you do some mantras or autosuggestion before bed, such as: "I will remember my dreams". It is also important to really believe those words as you think of them. Autosuggestion works wonders! Give it a go

      Good luck and happy dreaming

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I agree with Paigeyemps. Auto suggestion would improve your recall for everyday too.
