I agree, you should probably work on awareness more, so you get lucid earlier on in the dream. If that doesn't work, you can try DEILDing, which seems to be a perfect alternative for when you wake up from a lucid, you maintain your awareness before slipping back into the dream.
Yes this is exactly what's happening lol almost except for the lucidity trigger. Whenever I'm flying in my dreams that's what normally makes me lucid. Coincidentally, it happens when I'm about to wake up fml.

I will admit that I haven't really been stabilizing lately,honestly I tend to rush things a bit.

As for the awareness, I'll definitely work on that some more it really does help when my reality checks fail.
