Thumbs down Reality checks FAIL (without fail.)

So I do multiple reality checks in real life, only to find my dream consious will only practice 1- the nose plug. Which always fails. In each near-lucid dream I will:

      1. do the nose-plug (expecting it to work)
      2. it works! I get excited, anxious and then
      3. I have a false awakening, I do another nose-plug (expecting it to work)
      4. and it fails.

What is it with false awakenings , why can I only get reality checks to work once?
      Anyone else have this problem?

Perhaps your false awakening was false? As in you really woke up? Not to mention if you know that it's a false awakening, and you fail the reality check, how are you not lucid? Very confusing. Anyhow it has been known previously that the nose plug rc doesn't always work. Some people say it always work for them, and others say it never does for them. Personally the nose plug check works 30% of the time for me, dream logic right?, but I find that sticking my finger through my hand always works.

I didn't really wake up , because I recorded it on my phone. Woke up and checked it, there was nothing. I've had multiple false awakenings though.

I just can never remember to do a different rc

When you're doing your rc checks are you doing the nose plug first, have you been doing it longer, etc? Could just be that you haven't gotten used to any others, or aren't given them as much attention.

There have been many instances where my reality checks require for me to do them multiple times before they actually work. I would noseplug, and I can't breathe. Then I'd do them about 3 more times and then they work.

I suggest you continue practicing different reality checks, and doing them more than once. Also try to never have a doubt in your mind. Like, "when i plug my nose, i will surely still breathe", as opposed to, "if i plug my nose and i can breathe, it's a dream". You see, in the latter example, it would imply in your mind that it may or may not work. So you have to think it will work. Lastly, try using some autosuggestion to remind you to do different RCs like "test for gravity" or "poke my hands".

      Good luck vinny!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Try combining one or two Rcs together, and as paigeyemps said do them multiple times.

      Ooh, their breath is warm
      And they smell like sleep
And they say they take me home
      Like poppies heavy with seed
They take me deeper and deeper
