      trouble with WILD

Last night was my first partial success with the technique. I couldn't believe how real the images in front of my eyes were but before I could transition them to a dream, I would either get excited or simply just noticing them would make them disappear. What can I do to keep NOT focused on them enough so that I can make the transition?

Do you have any anchor of any sort or something to help you maintain consciousness but still fall asleep? If you do then just focus on that, "zone out" and focus on your counting, breathing, whatever you use. Look through the images and pay no attention to them, like when you're deep in thought or daydreaming and your eyes are just staring blankly at something but not really taking any of that information in. As you experience it more this will come more easily and you will be able to just slide through it without any trouble.

If you don't have any anchors or anything you normally focus on just do what you normally do but don't focus your eyes. I don't mean don't focus on your eyes, don't focus the images with your eyes. For example when you look at something and then quickly look at something else your eyes normally have to adjust and focus on the new image. Try not to do this with these images and just let them go by and eventually form your dream.
