About to try to Lucid Dream for the first time. Can I combinate two tecniques?

I was thinking about combinating WBTB and C-WILD(I think it was called like that) tecniques. Tecniques with Sleep Paralysis like WILD and so on won't work for me because I usually have bad dreams and I don't think I can face my fears(of someone's other presence in the dark, sounds etc.) without being able to move my body.
My plan is wake up after 5-6 hours(that's required in both tecniques), read something dream related+do RCs(WBTB) and when I go to bed count like '1- I am dreaming, 2 I am dreaming' and once I reach 100 I should get up in a Lucid Dream(C-WILD).
Has anyone ever tried this? Should I try it? What is the chance of this working?

Yes, you definitely can combine those two techniques. WBTB is often combined with any type of WILD and even MILD and actually makes WILDs easier since you are going directly into a REM cycle when you fall asleep. You can combine many different techniques, for example I preform DILD by reality checking and questioning reality throughout the day, ADA at various times throughout the day, then MILD while I'm first falling asleep, then a WBTB several hours into my sleep followed by another MILD while going back to sleep, and I also DEILD when I get the chance but I don't set any alarms for it or anything. Basically I preform every major technique except a straight WILD.

Yes, people do this every night and yes, you should try it since it will increase your chances of being successful with a WILD.

Sure you can! WBTB is not actually an induction method in itself; while I suppose it can be used alone, it is actually intended to be used in conjunction with other methods.

You can also combine other induction methods, like I do. I'm rarely consistent with any one technique anymore; I do tend to use autosuggestion alone, but I also have a habit of just throwing together aspects of MILD, VILD, CALD (character-assisted lucid dreaming), or whatever else I feel like. Sometimes, I meditate beforehand.

Remember, induction techniques aren't strict rules you have to follow exactly to become lucid; they're more like guidelines to help you, and you can tweak or combine techniques however you like.

Thank you. I tried WBTB for the first time combined with C-WILD(counting to 100) and I actually had a Lucid Dream which disappeared quickly. I was floating in some kind of a white area, but I actually felt like floating. The feeling was quite weird and the dream ended quickly, but I am not giving up yet.

I agree with the previous posts. And congrats with your lucid!! Also try to experiment with different durations of staying up during WBTB. Once you find that perfect time in which stay up, you can have greater chances with your coupled technique, rather than just blindly staying up for random durations everytime and hoping it'll work

      Congrats again. Happy dreaming

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.
