I've heard alot of extremely scary lucid nightmare stories, read/heard about so much of them to the point where i'm actually scared to go to bed, it's 4am. |

I understand your problem, when I was a kid my dreams scared me so bad I didn't want to go to sleep at night. However there are some laws to dreams that I have found throughout the years, for one the dream is a reflection of your feelings, If you want to make something scary go away you should smile at it, do not react cowardly in dreams, and you will not get a scary result. It takes a bit of will power, but it's quite simple to force a smile. Also the vivider a dream is the more likely it is to be less scary, unstable dreams are scary because they immediately respond to your sudden fears, everyone has sudden fears, like omg what is that figure over there. So yeah, most of the nightmares I've had, haven't been that lifelike. |

I wanna be the very best
Like no one ever was
To lucid dream is my real test
To control them is my cause
Yeah, don't be. Dreams are always from your own mind. This might not be what you want to hear, but if you're absolutely afraid of having bad dreams, you probably will have a few. Always think of the positive when it comes to your own mind. Ignore the "Don't get your hopes up" rule of real life, this is all in your mind so it's all to some extent under your control. |

When you do get to LD for the first time you'll find it exciting I hope. This way you can control your scary dreams and chase them away. Most all of my dreams involve some sort of death or dying, and I'm not just saying that I honestly have what others call nightmares every night. I view them as cool stories and love to tell people about them and have actually had someone suggest doing a comic series about them. It's all in your head, and eventually you can learn to control them. Talk to people around here and they will tell you how interesting LDing can become. |
