One dilemma - question for experts I guess :)

So, I have been playing with lucid dreaming for about 2 months now, more or less seriously, I dream lucid 1-3 days per week.
But I still cannot tell why lucid dreams are so different sometimes. I know that there are more levels of lucidity, but what about that please:

      1. Dreams yesterday. I found myself in my bedroom. I realise immediately I am dreaming. The surrounding is very intense, the feeling is overwhelming, it is totally as being awake in real life, but 10 times more intense. I guess you know what I am talking about. There is dark in the room, so I use my mind power to open the curtains and there is light. But that was all I could do, no more power left to do what I would want, to go out, so dreams become ordinary nonlucid dreams.

      2. Dreams today. I am not alerting myself that I am dreaming, dreams are not intense, they are just like regular dreams, BUT. This time I could control everything. Just as I wanted them to go, but they were not strong feeling in them at all, I didnt even realise I am so happy that I can do what I am doing, it wasnt like living a dream it was like seeing a movie that I wrote and produced.

So were they both lucid dreams and how come they were so different if both lucid?

      Thanks.

Adding: Just wanted to say, if those dreams would be as one, it would be like perfect lucid dreaming , but now are just some regular dreams with bonus )

      Oh! 1-3 lucids a week, that's awesome! Congrats :3

Hmm dream control is not equal to lucidity. You can be lucid, yet not control the dream. And at the same time, you may control the dream perfectly, but not be lucid. I was wondering, what did you mean by "I am not alerting myself that I am dreaming"? Did you know it was a dream though?

Also, have you looked into dream stabilization and control?

I'm no expert, and I don't know either why they're too different sometimes. I guess it's just like waking life. There are some days where we're really into our surroundings and activities, and other days where we are not completely into it, and end up just going along with everything. I guess that's true for dreams too.

      Hope this helps. See ya!

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Thank you so much. I guess the "alerting myself" part was bad choice of words (I am from Europe). So thats the point, that only first dreams were lucid ones and the second dreams were nonlucid, since I actually did not know I am in a dream.

      Thanks for the links too.

Dream control withoht knowing you are dreaming will not normally give you the WOW factor a lucid will...that is to be expected. A lucid without much control means you need to practice. Start small....dont try totally changing your dreamscape paradigm. Try making a bell ring or find a key in your pocket. Develop control over time.
