I need help with dream recall.

I can remember most of my dreams in pretty good detail but I feel like all the good dreams I have just go right through me. I do have a dream journal and a couple of supplements (b6 and melatonin) so if you guys know any other ways of improving recall I would really appreciate the help.

Lie still in bed and try to remember from the begining to the end of the dream. All the details you can, and never forget to write down stuff in your DJ. Do this during the night each time you wake up. Dream recall can take a while to improve, so be patient! And don't use supplements more than occasionally.

Try writing a note that says "DREAMS" and put it somewhere where you will see it first thing in the morning. Make sure that is all you think about when you wake up. Don't think about the day ahead or anything else, just focus on what dreams you had.

Write down any detail you can remember. Even just a color, or thought. If you don't remember it, it might suddenly come back to you during the day. Using this method, it should increase your recall. Good luck, BeginnerLDr

If you know what your dream signs are, go through each one of them in your head when you wake up. Try to remember if you had that dream sign in your dream, and once you get a 'hit', it'll be easier to connect the dots

Good luck. Keep at it! :3

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Do you wake up during or after REM periods? I record the times, and I recall my best dreams when I wake up during/after REM periods. Also, if you can, sleeping longer means more dreams. Lastly, don't just stop thinking about dreams if you can't remember them. I would just keep thinking to myself in the morning "What did I dream about?" Sometimes, it would pop into my head. I also think random words, and I remember dreams that way too.

I found that the more descriptive I get with my notes the more I'm able to gather long term. A good example is the content of a conversation, many times there is the memory of it taking place but we can't remember what it was about, to help with this every time you get the chance of bringing back the full extent of a conversation no matter how insignificant it may seem do it, it can be good leverage when reaching for something more important.
