      Fear in LD

so, I know there have been a few posts about this in the past, but knowing me, i just dont wanna go look for em. But anyways, yeah.

Two nights ago I had my 3rd LD and when i realized i was dreaming i instantly became afraid (it was entirely black, so i had no idea what i was going to create or anything.) though this LD did last longer than my other 2, it was still only about 20 seconds or so.

I was just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to control your fear in an LD, just in case it happens again.

Thank you and any responses will be greatly appreciated

Come on, try, give your command
Then you'll see and understand that my heart's no longer here
To be swayed by even tears.
If I were to move again, everything would be in vain
Every aspect of my life would descend into the dark

I had three lucid dreams as well. Congratulations on your 3rd!
Anyways, in the small amount of lucids that I have had, I was never afraid of it, probably because they weren't in a dark setting... But I suggest that you try calming yourself down when you first realize you're dreaming, and you remind yourself that nothing AT ALL can hurt you. Shout "clarity now!" or "brightness now!" if you have a dark setting again to try and make it a bit lighter. If that doesn't work you could test your dream control and imagine a flashlight or something to appear. Just know that this is not a scary experience, it's a fun and exciting one! Be positive and put a smile on your face. Sorry if this doesn't help.

You don't need to fear, just think of how no matter what happens you will wake up in the morning and be fine.

Have confidence in your dreaming abilities as well. Think about how many dreams you have had in the past and how you are the master of your subconscious (like Tom Bombadil!) Know that you can handle the situation. When you think about LDs imagine yourself performing reality checks and after that, imagine yourself having fun!

Good luck on Lucid Dreaming, Happy dreaming!

Just keep reminding yourself that it is YOUR dream and you are in control. Everything should fear you not the other way around. XD Tell yourself nothing is real and it's just a dream.

Anyway, congratulations on the third lucid!
