Thread: Lucid or not ?

I just had an hour long nap and dreamt that my cousin was missing but realised that my cousin was not missing, that I was dreaming she was missing because I had been watching a sky news feature about a missing child before I napped.

So I was aware that I was dreaming and decided to try ninas stabalization technique of examining my hands but couldn't figure out if I should be looking at my dream hands or real hands so I put my real hand up to my face in front of my eye and struggled to get my eye open a crack but knew I was going to wake myself up so decided nina must mean examine your dream hands so I did, at first I couldn't see them at all, then they did focus but turned blue, then the fingers on one of my hands looked really short and my hands were going in and out of focus. I don't know why but I then told myself to wake up, I felt a bit freaked out, and after about 30 seconds I was able to open my eyes.

So is this a lucid dream or a dream about a lucid dream ? Very often I have dreams where i'm fully aware that i'm dreaming and fly around all different landscapes but this is the first time i've ever tried to tell myself to do something and followed through
