Flying to test reality? New type of LD induction?

Recently Ive noticed that my thoughts early morning after a microawakening actually turn out to be dreams so i decided to do something about it. I told myself next time im recognize a thought im going to jump and try fly. If i fly its a dream, not its just a thought.

I woke up at 7ish this morning and did a piss back to bed lol. As i was falling back asleep I noticed i was having about 30 second "thought" dreams. After waking up from my second one i decided to do the flight reality check on the third one.

Sure enough, i noticed a deep thought about walking down a city road. "Lets jump and see where this goes." I jumped and started flying. As soon as i started flying everything got very crisp and i was fully in the dream. I rubbed my hands together to stabilize which didnt seem to do anything and about 5 seconds later i woke up.

I have no idea of what kind of LD this was. I dont think it was a wild because i didnt get any sleep paralysis, vibrations, tingling, any sensation of falling into the dream world, nor did the dreamscape create in front of me.

Why do these "thought" LD only last 10-20 seconds? Why did i wake up so quickly when i had nearly 100% clarity?

Maybe flying is a little too extreme to start off a lucid, especially when you can't handle the excitement. You should probably remain using the usual palm check, nose plug, etc.

As for the reality check in general, I'd say it's just another reality check I guess. Reality checks can range from normal ones to extreme ones (like flying). Anything that can't happen in the real world, but can in a dream, is pretty much a reality check. For example, in the waking world, you would not be able to breathe through a blocked nose, but in a dream you can. For the flying, you can't do it in real life, but in a dream you can .

Hope I explained it okay. Hope to see you around!

Sounds like a WILD to me. You entered a dream while falling asleep and still had enough awareness to do reality check.

Please, read some of the latest threads in WILD forum about SP. You don't need it to WILD. Most people don't get paralysis. Sometimes you don't even feel the vibrations or other types of hallucinations, especially when you fall asleep fast, as you sound like you did.

It's really silly to deny that someone had a lucid dream, just because there was no SP.

And you woke up, because you probably were excided. And I would also say, that you didn't have enough time to fall asleep deeply enough. That happens to me more often than I would like.

So congrats on your WILD. I bet you'll have many more now. Here is a great tutorial that will answer all your WILD questions. Happy dreams
