Going to try to Lucid Dream one more time, help?

Here's my story. I was trying for around roughly a month, doing reality checks, dream journals, everything. At first my dream count, when I started, was around 1 dream a night. Then it spiked to 2+. Anywho, I shall continue. I kept switching methods, frustrated after 2 days, and it not working. I tried MILD, DILD, DEILD, WILD, everything. MILD wouldn't simply work, I couldn't wake up concious enough to remember, I was FAR too alert for WILD, etc, etc. It went to the point where I was like: "Fuck this..." and I quit. Then, once I lost interest, my dream recall dropped to an absolute zero. But believe me, I want to Lucid Dream SO BADLY. I've decided to pull myself together, and try this one more time. Does anyone have any reccomendations for starting methods?

Hmm I personally recommend MILD, and if you can, pair it with it WBTB. Also, don't give up on a technique too quickly. I don't think a few days will do it. Remember that you are adjusting your lifestyle around it, so don't be surprised if it doesn't work within a day or two. keep up your dream journal too, that will truly help with the recall and eventually, lucidity. Remind yourself why you want to lucid dream, and i highly suggest writing up a list of dream goals you want to achieve. Read them throughout the day and everynight before bed.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

      Agreed with paigey.

2 days, even 2 weeks is too short for one method to take hold and bring fruit. I would definitelly recommend you concentrate on one method - DILD/MILD.

Dream journal, mantras, RCs and awareness. You have to put effort in it and especially emotions and intent. Just "want" it is not enough. You have to "know".

Read your old dreams, others dreams, threads like "1000 things to do in LD", make your own goals and daydream about them. If you want to lets say drive a dune buggy, watch some youtube videos to get psyched about it. Imagine yourself behing a wheel, how cool it will be. Get excided, do mantras, RCs and awareness and you will lucid dream.

      Happy dreams

      I certainly know that feeling!

Like what has already been said, I think the most important thing is to find something that works for you and stick at it. If you stay motivated you are almost guaranteed to get one pretty soon, but if you loose hope you'll expect never to have one and it won't work. When I came back for a second try at lucid dreaming, Stephen LaBerge's book Exploring the "World of Lucid Dreaming" was quite a big help and it kind of weighs up the options so you can see whats best for you.

Whenever I came back for another try I've gotten significantly better every time, I think its because when I came back I KNEW that I could do it, wheras when I first started I was unsure of whether or not it would ever work. Rest assured that it will, just stick at it and you'll get great results.

      Good luck!

      Persistence is key.

You need to keep on trying and sticking to a particular method for a while. And "a while" means weeks if not months!
