      WBTB loses usefulness?

Just a question I had. I know that WBTB can be a great thing, but I do it every day. Should I not be?

Is it working good for you? If it is, and you can spare the time to do it, then why not

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

I haven't had very much success recently. Ever since I started ADA it actually has decreased my number of lucids because my dreams are so vivid

I know the feeling. ^-^ I wake up every morning with a "Holy Sh*t Was THAT a dream!?" - Moment xD

Although for the WBTB question... as paigeyemps said, if it works for you (and as long it doesn't disturb your sleep) why not?

I wake up several times during the night and on the fifth awakening I usually look at the time and see that it's about 04:20 so I get up and go to the bathroom, and then I go back to sleep.
And that doesn't disturb my sleep or leave me tired during the day, however with WBTB do you mean staying up for 1 hour or something like that? Because if you do that every night you should notice some effects during the day. But yeah as long as it doesn't disturb you I see no harm.

I think you asking if you can get used to WBTB and it stops getting you lucid, because you got used to it.

I would say it can happen. Same way as if using same mantra and RC, it loses it's special meaning and your mind/body get used to it.

You can change the time of your WBTB if you can, or do a different method for a while and get back to WBTB later. Have you tried CAT - cycle adjustment technique? Let's say your normal waking time is 7am. So with CAT, for a few weeks you wake up at 6 am. This gets your body used to be awake and aware at 6am. Then when you return to waking up at 7am, you can get lucid at 6, since your mind is used to waking up at 6.

I wake up around 3 or 4 times a night and write down my dreams. Each time (especially the last) I try and wake myself up a little bit, just enough that I can still go to sleep. If I get 8 hours of sleep I will have a lucid. If I can get like 9 or 10 I can have multiple. I wake myself up instead of staying up for 15-60 minutes, because I think the extra sleeping time helps. If I can do this multiple days in a row I can just keep LDing, but with school I haven't been able to try doing it over and over. I will be able to this break though! hoping for tons of LDs!

Not sure if this helped, but it helps me writing it out.

I don't know how it could use its usefulness if you awaken the conscience part of your brain. Idk if your body will get used to it. I think that as long as you awaken your conscience mind it will always improve your chances of LD. That's coming from me and I'm no expert so take my advice with a grain of salt!
