You can use it to solve real life problems if you are better at it. It is creative problem solving.

I also like the idea of giving you stories for books, pictures to paint, inventions to make.

These are things that are for sure because it isn't things that some people do not beleive in like the ability to talk to your subconscious. But I think that it is good for that too, like Bossman said.

Some people have reports of crazy lucid nightmares or identity crisis, but most of them are things I would consider preexisting conditions. For instance i never have nightmares, and if i did (and i was afraid of them, which I am not) then LDing would mess with my mind.

Identity crisis is also something that I think LDing could help or make worse depending on your experience.

For me personally, lucid dreaming is a way to experience some things that are impossible to do IRL for one reason or another, but i agree with BrandonBoss on stories and defeating fear points, as i had some weird fear towards an certain item in one of rooms and i defeated it after i started LD'ing.
