It's hip to be square!
I am sorry I don't know the exact video, because there are so many! But I think it was mentioned in one of the "Experimental Exercises Hawaii Seminar", so if you are patient you can check those: Tom Campbell - Experiential Exercises (Hawaii) 1of13 - YouTube
But I think in summary it can be summarized like this, just think about a whole year of your life, or a month, or a week, but to make it even clearer think of a day, let's think of yesterday. An amount of information for whole day, directy experienced to you as a flash for 5 seconds. How much of it would you understand?
Probably not so much, which is why it is important to intend to put awareness on one thing, so you can focus on that.
How? You just intend yourself to do that, if you are worried of how it will go, the experience will be worried of how it will go, if you know how it will go, the experience will know how it will go, but if you don't know how you want it to go just intend to experience what ever the experience think will be best for you.
It's all about trusting the experience and yourself.
In my experience I intended to visit a friend by flying, but it was in conflict with my intention of exploring the consciousness (which I have no idea of how it would be like), as I thought of that while flying in hyper speed over a alien world, the land changed and cities began to rise out of the ground, I remember see on futuristic city and one destroyed city, like the one in the matrix where Morpheus shows Neo "the real world". I then noticed a big image of a desert like place and I intended to go there, both by thinking it and by flying straight into the image.
I then had a strange experience of visiting a deserted place with statues left behind there, and texts that I was able to re-read without it becoming distorted!
And scary messages left on the statues like "Don't let people dream, instead let them watch the corpses under the statues" and I think it was ending with "of their leaders..."
No particular meaning maybe behind this experience for me though, but it was interesting to experience. It was just cool to see that you had a similar kind of floating and image flashing experience.
