Thread: Need Backup or some explanation

So,I start arguing with somebody on a romanian forum about this topic
I'll make a summary on what we said :

Random user : You can have sex in a lucid dream?

Me : Yes,but it's very difficult.You need to have a very good control on your dreams.

That somebody (quoting me) : Lucid dream can work,but you have to be careful.You must be an atheist,otherwis you known how the devil works.He knows our thoughts (but he doesn’t know our deepest thoughts).He can enter in our dreams and induce things.He gives us inappropriate thoughts.Our imagination it’s a road to the devil.Go and see some orthodox opinions.You want to lucid dream…ok…we can make this…you can go even on stars.It can give you relaxation or an accomplishment feeling.You don’t control the show,it is offered to you…at your demand.I think it’s a dangerous game.But you can make what you want…

Me : No,I’m not an atheist.In lucid dream,everything it’s your imagination,you will discover what you want.About the “devil activity in the human mind”,I don’t think it’s real.The Bible it’s mentioning about our free will.But here is not about religion.Lucid dreams are not just a place were you just go and play. You can interact with your subconscious mind,you can overcome your fears or you can practice things that don’t go very well in real life.Religion is not an argument in this case , because we all sin with our thoughts. Why you can not control the thought and not doing even this sin?If you have lucid dreams it means you can control your thoughts.
After your opinion,the world wouldn’t evolve in this stage (the great inventors and intellectuals of the world were atheists).After my opinion,when religion and science would stop arguing,the humankind will reach its full potential.

That somebody : You give me the impression you are already “touched”.Yes,we have our free will even to knock at the devil’s door.It seems you control the world after your rules,whatever.I just tell you to be careful because their where you go,in your subconscious,a devil will wait to “train” you.This “toy” it’s close to meditation.You are voluntary decoupling from conscious mind (violating normality) and let your mind open to other “guests”.Your bad thoughts that you think you control are not your thoughts.Their been induced.The world evolved how you want to say but we were “assisted” by “inspired” scientists.

What kind of demonic potential?For self destruct?Chaos?But you don’t know more because of your “knowledge”

Me : You’re a religious fanatic.You will attack all my arguments with “the demonic presence”.I don’t have more to say…
In your opinion, everything that surrounds us is the “devil’s hand”.I think you are the one who needs to be careful.You give me the impression you don’t know what you want to say.So “the devil knows our thoughts and enters in our dreams and induce things” that we just have the impression that we control.Then tell me,please,what is stopping me to not shot people in the street?The consciousness maybe?But it’s not a “deepest thought” so after your theory it can be influenced...
When I said “potential” I was referring to an evolutionary potential.In 50 years from now the most basic resources from Terra will be finished and science is still struggling to discover if Jesus lived (although his existence is historically proven).Or you think that the possibility of a colony on another planet is a fact of a grand plan of the devil?

It is an opinion. They can't be proven or dis-proven. Better to let it go and agree to disagree, cliche as that sounds. Neither of you will succeed in convincing the other, especially since deep-seated beliefs and experiences are involved.

I agree with CitizenOfZeal. Best is not to argue, since he can not convince you and I'm sure you don't apppreciate him trying to. And you can definitelly not convince him. I usually feel that people have right to their opinion.
