Lucid dreaming ... in a dream! Help?

Hey so im trying to achieve a lucid dream...I started like 1 week ago and i had one weird lucid dream tonight(IM NOT SURE IT WAS LUCID) Ok but first of all i need to mention that all the things that i did was doing reality checks ... Telling myself i will lucid dream..Thinking everyday about it..And i didnt had a dream journal..But i have now.Ok so here is my dream: I was at the computer and just randomly doing an reality check and i realised i was lucid dreaming..In my dream... Yeah..And then i started flying...but after a time i couldnt fly anymore.. I felt the emotions and everything..It was snowing. But i couldnt control my self. It happened from itself maybe its a false lucid dream? Can you give me some tips on how to really have a lucid dream? Thanks . Now i have a dream journal..And i wrote down my dream in big details and images..Thats for the dream recall.Oh and what do i have to improve to really have a lucid dream?

Sounds like a lucid dream! Some lucids are more amazing than others. Remember that they are just like normal dreams, but you are aware that you are dreaming. I think more people would post about the "fake lucid" feeling, but I think that it is impossible to explain to someone that hasn't experienced it. My first LD was like this.

A little false advertising on lucid dreaming is probably more of what you were expecting, something like
"Feelings of elation, colors seem more real, everything more beautiful."

That will happen if you continue to LD. I would say that that is what most people pretend is there first lucid because it was the first time it was a crazy experience.

      Welcome to DV!

Edit: there is no such thing as a dream inside a dream. Inception lied. There are just scene changes.

It does sound like a lucid dream, however it is common for people to dream that they were ucid dreaming without actually being lucid. It can be hard to tell the difference at times especially if the false-lucid dream is extremely vivid but usually when I'm lucid dreaming I can just "feel" it, it's a feeling that false lucid dreams have never given me. This is what helps me seperate false lucids with real lucids.
Now I should also say that no one can truly tell you that you were lucid dreaming, you are the only one qualified to make that distinction. We can only look at the evidence and see if your actions and feelings reflect that of a lucid dreamer, and it would seem you passed this test in my opinion.
My Lucid Dreaming Motto - "I have walked upon the the surface of a burning star. Observed events so infinitesimal and instantaneous that they can barely be described as having occurred at all. You... you're just a dream character. And this world's most powerful dream character poses no more threat to me than it's smartest cupcake." - Dr. Manhattan (kinda)

I remember reading something on the levels of awareness that you can have in a dream and lucid dream. You can be fully aware and semi aware or not aware at all only a viewer. i think one tip would be to check for things to alert yourself that it is a real lucid dream. One you know you are aware as though you woke up. And second thing can you control things around you. one of my first real lucid dreams i woke up or became lucid on top of a round mountain and i started to jump from mountain to mountain.super jump. also notice how you see. are you seeing yourself through third person or are you seeing from your own eyes. it may help.
