      Sleeping Position

      hey again
Is there a required position for a Lucid Dream?
Last night I was laying on my back and i relaxed. I was doing MILD tehnique but I just couldn't fall asleep.
I think it was because I tried to think too much and trying to just "pop up into the scene"
I felt sleep paralysis again and my whole body was hurting so I just needed to end SP. Then I rolled over to my stomache and tried again to MILD and I coldn't relax and MILD...

So is there a specific sleep position for Lucid Dreaming?

Sounds like you just have problems sleeping. To answer your question, no there isn't. You should try exercising or reading before going to bed, to make your mind and body tired and ready to go to sleep.

There is no required position. You should go to sleep in your normal, most comfortable position. Especially for MILD, by the time you have lucid dream, couple of hours after you have fallen asleep, you have most likely already changed position anyway.

MILD is just repeating your mantra or affirmation or intent. If this keeps you awake, just try to fall asleep normally and then start thinking your mantras...etc, when closer to falling asleep.

Excercising does help, when you do it during day, but not just before you go to sleep. Physical activity will just wake you up more.

And SP - it's when you can't move at all, not the images or sensations you get as falling asleep. It definitelly is not something you suppose to try to induce. It's not required for lucid dreaming. And it has nothing to do with MILD method, since with MILD, you just fall asleep normally and then during regular dream you realize you are dreaming.

      SP explained.

Best position for lucid dreaming varies from person to person, for me i had most of my lucid dreams while semi-sitting in the bed. Just try out various ones and find out which one works the best.

Comfortable position for me is laying sideways. But in that position the tehnique doesn't have any effect.

Is it because I always used to fall asleep in that position and my mind only focuses on sleeping asap, totaly foegetting about the mantras I'm repeatin while trying to fall asleep?

I think you are looking at this from the wrong angle.

With MILD, all you need to do is fall asleep, while repeating your mantra. That's all. How do you know, it has no effect in your position, and why do you think, it would have better effect in different position.

If you fall asleep too fast, lets say 2 min, repeat your mantra for 5 min while sitting on bed, then repeat it as falling asleep till you asleep. The sooner you fall asleep, the better. You sleep longer, get a better sleep and have better chance at lucid.

You also repeat your mantra during day. When walking, taking a shower, listening to teacher, sitting, makes no difference. Same way, when you tell yourself "Oh, don't forget to pick up milk on the way home". Your position is irrelevant.
