Ah, shut up! I haven't had a single LD in my life. |

Before I went to bed last night, I just knew that I was about to have a lucid dream. I just had this feeling. So my dream recall has been amazing this week. In the past five days I've recalled 29 dreams or so. I started doing reality checks again from wednesday. I've read through my dream journal before I went to bed and I kept repeating this mantra: "I must be dreaming" until I fell asleep. It started of as a normal dream. I was working in some sort of lab. And my job was to mix the chemicals. It was quite dark in the room and all the furniture seemed so old. For some reason I said to myself: "Hey, I must be dreaming". So I tried to push my finger through the palm of my hand, it worked and I was lucid. I was really happy. But 5 seconds later everything turned black and I "woke up". It was a false awakening and I forgot to do a reality check. I've had 9 lucid dreams so far. And with 4 of them, I woke up immediately right after I realise that I'm dreaming. I'm quite happy with this lucid dream. I've got my motivation back. But why do I keep waking up before I can even stabilize my dream? I really need to do something about that, but I don't know what. |

I can see you sleep through your bedroom window. You're killing yourself with lucid dreaming.

Last ld was my 6th, also woke up for no real reason and without a warning. Mybe our REM cycle that we entered was too short? |

Congrats on the lucid, seems like your making progress. You are most likely waking up before you can stabalize because you are getting too excited. This used to happen to me. The best thing for me was as soon as I realized I was dreaming I would say out loud something along the lines of "keep calm, and maintain stability." and then I would kind of absorb all my surroundings and try to put some of your senses to use, such as smell, touch, and even taste. A simple but effective technique is to rub your hands together. I also like to combine it with telling the dream to stay stable. These few things helped me maintain a lucid for longer. Hope it helps you as well, good luck. |

Hey nice going with the 9th LD too bad it ended so suddenly, but thats still progress. I usually forget to do any RC or SBZ when i get lucid, but i still manage to stay in the dream for couple of minutes. Repeating words suchs as "I will realize im dreaming" has never actually worked for me i dont know why, i just feels odd to repeat the same sentence all over again. |

Not sure if it would help or not but I started wearing a wristband that I only wear to bed. It acts as a great reminder to put some real emphasis into morning RC's. I have yet to see it convert to a dream though but I'm hoping! |

If you're ever fed up with life, try having kids. It'll never be the same...
Plus you can do all that cool kid stuff again without looking like a creep. Bounce House, here I come!!!
Everyone else has a picture down here so here's the best band ever...
This may seem a bit off or far-fetched, but it could also have something to do with how your mind is programmed to react to your reality check. I've experienced this quite a lot. Sometimes, when you dont fully comprehend the reality check, you could trick your mind into thinking it's actually weird and dangerous, and that could cause you to abort the dream or shift to another one. I mean, for example your reality check is the noseplug. When you randomly noseplug and get lucid, some part of your brain could still think breathing with a plugged nose is not normal and decide to compensate by hurling you into another dream for safety or something. If that makes sense? |
