Types of Normal Dreams, and attaining Lucidity??

I'm new here, so let's start with a hello, nice to meet you ^_^

Next jump right into my question:

My usual type of dreams are movie dreams. Where i generally watch a series, an anime episode a movie, a manga or story. I rarely have... rarely remember having dreams about 'me' doing something. thus i was wondering, can i still attempt lucid dreaming?

I'm not so sure if i made it clear, but you know how you watch an episode of a favorite series -example House M.D./NCIS- well i do that, except i make up a plot, mix up some characters from other series and create a whole new episode, it really is no different than watching one while you are awake.

It generally feels so natural, that when i was a kid, whenever i'd wake up before the end of an 'episode' i used to be so convinced that it actually exist and start searching around for it, thinking i'd actually find it and will be able to continue from where i left off.

So My question is: I'm really interested in the whole lucid dreaming thing, but if my dreams are generally like that ^, a dream where I I'm not in it, I don't feel smell or sense anything other than what i'd feel if i were to be watching something while awake. - At least i don't have to worry about my eyes going dry or my wrist hurting from the laptop- Can i still attain lucidity?

      Welcome to Dreamviews!

Of course, you can attempt lucid dreaming and you will have wonderfull LDs.

You will find, that LDs are quite different from regular dreams. You still may observe many of them them from 3. person perspective, but that may also change.

I don't have types of dreams you are having. Most often I do act in my dreams. But I have never seen my dream body or heard my voice, or speak, for that matter. Until I started "practicing" that during day.

If you have any further questions, please ask. happy dreams

What do you mean by "practicing during the day" though if it's already answered somewhere then a link would be more than enough not to trouble you, and thank you ^_^

During day you can practice doing things that yo want to do in your lucid dreams. Pretend you just got lucid and yell out loud different commands, like "increase focus now" and many others.

Other that yelling commands, you can pat your arms, legs, feel your clothes, touch the ground and other things you want to do.

      Yo, ofcourse it's possible.
I quite often have dreams where i am watching something or playing some video game in similar way, and i once spontaneously got lucid during one of those 'sessions'.

I think that 50% of my normal dreams I'm playing some videogame, watching something or using some kind of computer. Sometimes I think I'm playing some game but I'm actually "inside" the game xD. But I still have lucids, and some are from those "movie" dreams.

Sometimes I surprise myself wondering how would my character sheet be.
