      Reality Checks Question ?

When you do reality checks in your daily life are you meant to say 'zone out' in a way or do you just look at it normally?
also i heard apple juice assists with lucidity would that be true or not?

Sorry for the noobish post one of my first posts on this forum but yeah thanks to anyone that reply s

Reality checks are a moment of introspection. You don't need to concentrate like you're trying to summon a spirit, or look around like a maniac who lost track of it's victim. No, the only thing you have to do is...question yourself. "Am I dreaming?"; "What am I doing here?"; "does everything around me seems natural?". You can then use a simple test like trying to breathe with your nose plugged and obtain confirmation. The way to make reality checks a second nature isn't so much by repeating them 50 times a day (that helps increasing the habit though), but by developing a sense of awareness and questioning that will make you doubt about whether you're dreaming or not. For example, are you just randomly reading this, or do you know that you're not dreaming? Stop and do a reality check. Look around.

Regarding apple juice, I'm not sure but some people mention it does help. It may be placebo, or it may work, either way it doesn't hurt to try I saw people pretending they had a lucid dream pill and they actually got lucid dreams due it. It's all on the mind ^^

Oh, and no posts are noobish, unless the ones stating that the simpsons suck Feel free to post all your questions, helping each others is what we're here for

About sun turning into the moon dreams can be just really random sometimes, but maybe you were thinking about nighttime at that moment? As for the dream control, you need to be confident and actually expect it to happen to be successful, be sure to check out Dream Control Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views !
Also to add to what zoth00 said about reality checking, emotions can help with that too. Like thinking, 'Wow, am i dreaming?' and really expecting reality check to work.

Checker666 advice is spot on: sometimes dream control provides random results. Being confidence and having strong expectations play a huge role due the nature of the dream. But don't be discouraged if it doesn't work at first! I took 3 entire lucid dreams to master going through solids, and before getting the hang of it, I'd spend entire lucid dreams banging my head against the walls ahaha xD One way of building "confidence" is trying small things first and then move on to bigger things. You'll be encouraged by the success and be much less doubtful about whether it's going to work or not

i think i should tell you my experience in more detail well in my dream i was on a beach and this odd dog/Buffalo type thing was running around the beach and then i suddenly looked at my hands which were all blurry and im like hey im in a dream i can do whatever i want so i jumped in the air and it felt like i was floating for a bit then i tryed to control the water but it only moved a slight bit then things started to fade but as it was doing so the sun turned into a blueish sort of colour and took the shape and features of a moon

Quite an interesting 1st lucid dream ^^ You managed to float already that's pretty good!

Yeah, for many people the first lucid dreams kinda tend to be flashy and not last too long. I think it's excitement for the experience Regarding the "things started to fade", that's common in your first adventures, all you need to solve it is stabilize the dream and increase clarity. Take a look at this tutorial

You got yourself a nice tool to repeat the experience, just hold to the memory of your first lucid dream when you go to bed and hopefully the next one is right around the corner

I have had no effect with apple juice, and it is the only lucid aid I have used.
