Holding on to a dream a little bit longer

This was a dream I just had yesterday. I was having fun sliding on a slippery ground with a women on my
back and suddely It came up to me.... this is a dream! And the moment I thought of that It became
serious. She was sitting next to me and I asked for her name, she gave her first name but did not
wanted to say her last name but I kept asking, suddenly I knew i was going to wake up and
said ''please give me your last name I'm almost waking up" but she did not. In the last
moment she stood up and walked away...me knowing I was holding on to that dream
let loose and right away I woke up.

Sometimes I know Im going to wake up and somehow I can hold on to that dream
      a little bit longer.

^^ Sometimes all you need is a little incentive to make that dream last just a little longer, and it looks like you had that!

There are numerous methods of prolonging lucid dreams.
First and foremost, dream stabilization is a renowned technique used to ground yourself, and help ensure that your dreams are fulfilling and extensive.
Sometimes slowing down and concentrating in general, will not only provide you with a rewarding dream, but also a long one.
There are also last ditch efforts you can attempt if you feel yourself slipping away. Try spinning around in a circle, or shouting "TELEPORT"
Sometimes you'll land in a different dream land, and save your dream!
Although, sometimes they just slip away from you.
If you check out my DEILD guide, you'll find lots of things to try, and most importantly, how to slip back into your dream, even when you wake up!
It's like an almighty and powerful tool that's a must for any avid lucid dreamer, beginner or expert.
      Best of luck!

Yup, as yuppie11975 said stabilization is a nice way to prolong and restabilize dream when used correctly: Dream Stabilization and Clarity Tutorial - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views
Other than that, once i managed to turn a fading dream into a false awakening by literally grabbing into it as it was fading.

I have had luck stabilizing a fading lucid dream by rubbing the palms of my hands together vigorously, the way that produces heat. At other times, spinning around really fast in place has worked.
