Best thing would be for you to try them both and then decide.

i think they are both different. First the vividness and recall of obe is much like the waking recall no matter how long you have been obe'ed where the longer lucid dreams are harder to recall fully. second in obe you dont have control of physical objects and the world is stable not like lucid dreams.

your polling options are not clear.
both options suggest that obe is a derivative of lucid dreaming.
they should be like this?
1) is OBE or Astral projection is just a super lucid dream (happens in mind)
2) they are very different (happens in physical reality).

Well ever think that's because you want it to happen that's what people say its like so when you try it you dream/think about what they say about it so that's what it is your sub-conscience takes control and says oh well you want to do that so it adds the rules that people speak of next time you are in an OBE try to change it take all the rules off and then post your experience.

Oh ok its just that its hard for me to because its hard for me to get a grasp that its possible but i guess if i look at it as a lucid dream it would be easyier

Are you trying to decide whether to practice lucid dreams or OBEs?

If yes, I would suggest to start with LD. I'm sure you will have a few "different" experiences and those will make you research some more on OBEs. Then you will be able to understand better the whole thing.

Some people believe, that LDs are completely different from OBEs. Some believe, that dreams are in our head, others, that they happen in some other place outside of our bodies. And some believe, that they are the same.

But no matter what you believe, if you try LDing or OBEing, you will have some mind-boggling experiences. So we don't really engage in "which is better". We all do our thing and enjoy it all. Hope this helps.

very true. i think its just a matter of experience. if you have enough lds and obes you will know the difference. but for me obe is a real phenomena which happens in real world, i don't have that experience in obes but my obe concept is supported by the true stories which i have heard of the saints and spiritual gurus . i am not forcing anyone to agree with me, just giving my views.

I think you're actually right, because I almost had a lucid dream, but I thought it was actually an obe. In the obe, I interacted with my dad through the use of mirrors while he was driving to work in the early morning, but later when I asked him if he saw me, he said no. So I think it could be a lucid in reality...

No they're not the same, the biggest difference is the shift in point of consciousness. With ap your consciousness is directed in the astral planes & with lucid dreaming it's the mental plane. In a lucid dream most beings are one dimensional dream characters & are solely focused on what they're doing at the time, & conversation is usually pointless. The law of of physics will often be present in a lucid dream contrast to ap. I prefer ap over ld for traveling the universe & finding planets with intelligent & exotic life forms as well as time traveling. I've often hear people only wanting to use ld's as a platform for ap, never vise versa. Wit access to the 7 astral planes & the physical plane, I'd say ap's are ld's on steroid's.
