Hello, welcome to Dreamviews.
Just wondering, this particular dream was non-lucid, right? I wasn't sure since you mentioned having your first few lucid dreams, then you spoke about this dream. It can be confusing sometimes, especially if in the dream you are talking about lucid dreaming. Many of us even have dreams where we tell ourselves it's a dream and try to convince other characters, yet we don't really get that it's a dream, you know what I mean?
Non-lucidity in this particular dream might explain why you had that dread feeling, since it is totally normal in non-lucids to have random bursts of extreme emotion, just as it is totally normal to be catapulted into a suddenly different dream scene without thought or motive. Anyway, it is nothing to worry about, unless it starts happening very frequently, which might be caused by some underlying issue like real life stresses.
As for speaking to dream characters, yes it is normal for them to react that way. You might wanna check this thread out, for fun: http://www.dreamviews.com/general-lu...reactions.html
