Your Experiences Hitting New LD Heights

So, I have been practicing Lucid Dreaming for just over a year now. My progress for the first few months was steady and then I evened out. I predictably have roughly 1 lucid dream night every 9 days, on average now. However, I am wanting to get past this plateau and up my frequency further.

I am looking for your inspirational stories. Have you ever plateaued? If so, for how long and what did it take to get to a higher frequency?

I appreciated the feedback I got on chat the other day, but would like to hear a few more experiences.

      Thanks in advance!

Going on 25ish years here, and I often have a couple weeks go by with no real LDs. I just do not keep up my focus and fall into bad habits. If I do something to get my interest up, such as talking on DV alot or some such, then it resparks things. MY first teacher warned me that no matter what I did, I would some times be unable to LD for over a week or more. I doubted him, and assumed I could learn to get beyond the whole 'dry spell' thing. Now, a lifetime latter, I think he was probably correct.

Interesting, Sivason. If you are over 2k lucid dreams for 25ish years, you must have had some periods of very high frequencies. Would you attribute those to just putting in more effort, WILD attempts, or other initiatives?

I have learned to not worry about the lulls - they are regular and always pass - but I do want to get to a more regular frequency and am hoping that not all progress is linear for our resident experts.

I have as many as 3 or 4 a night sometimes. Sometimes I average 10 or so a week. Those times are related to how much effort I put in, how much work I put in at bedtime, with proper meditation/mantra use, and so on. If I do nothing extra and drink a bit and use sleep aids at night and caffiene in the day,,, well, then it drrops to a couple cheap lame LDs a weak, and maybe 1 good one a month. Also sometimes as much as 2 weeks pass with almost no hint of lucidity.

When I first started practicing I was having around 5-10 LDs per month. I increased that to a consistent 15-20 per and my peak was 35 LDs in a month. That was going hard for a few years and rocking ADA really hard before I hit that point. I tend to hover around that 15-20 per, give or take, right now.

It can be difficult at times because stress can hurt you count, trying too hard can hurt your count, but you still have to find a way to "go hard" without the stress and overexertion. Got to find that balance and discipline.

When i was starting out i haven't had much LDs per week, then i even had to go through long dry spell which was few months long, but after i broke it i started having lucid dreams pretty often, at the moment it's generally 2-3 a week, but sometimes higher than that.
Though remember that frequency is not only thing that you should want to go for, but yeah, keep practicing and it will definitely rise.
