      Need encouragment :(

      Hello guys,
I'm sorry to fill the forum yet again with another post of someone looking for motivation, but I actually have a question that's a little more specific and I thought It would justify the creation of the thread.
About a year ago, I was really pumped about lucid dream, I was starting to have my first LD's, I actually got like a dozen of them and was just really into it. Even though I'm really lazy and get unmotivated really easilly, this was one of the few things that I tried to keep doing and going through all the effort that's necessary. The thing with the LD's that I had was that, when I woke up from them, they didn't even feel like a lucid dream anymore, it was just like I was only dreaming that I was lucid, you know? I posted about this, and was told that this was a recall problem and that it was fixable, but I think thats what got me kinda unmotivated. I eventually stopped trying. But a couple weeks ago, I was lucid for a fragment of a dream, and now I am thinking of getting back in. What I want to ask now is, your regular lucid dreams, how real do they feel? And do you feel like your actually LIVING them, or you just recall them when you wake up?

      Thanks

First of all, i think most people get unmotivated once in a while, it's something we all go through. Just remember to keep pushing yourself, and don't give up. Just take a little break if it's needed.

I can't really remember what video it was, but you need to see lucid dream as layers of awareness. In some of them you will be so aware of everything that it feels realer then reality, in others you're awareness and "connection" with the dream will be low. Maybe you could try some dream control techniques, so you increase the chance to get a better awareness, I'm sure there are plenty to find in this forum.

Most of my lucid dreams feel real, and the other ones where nothing to "brag" about (Those where mostly my first couple of lucid dreams.). My suggestion for you is to practice dream control or meditation, that should help you improve you're lucid dreams. But don't try to force yourself, or you will just get burned out. Just have fun, and experiment around.

Hope this helps you out a little bit.

All successful people men and women are big dreamers. They imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.

It's best to have failure happen early in life. It wakes up the Phoenix bird in you so you rise from the ashes.

Some are better than others but for me the average Lucid is this....

You feel like you're living them just like waking life!
You choose what you want to do and how you want to do it, just like you would expect Virtual Reality to be like if they perfected it!
If you touch a surface you can feel the texture of it, feel if it's hot or cold and feel the weight of objects you pick up.
If you Fly or fall you get the sensation you're really doing that just as in waking life.
You can occasionally feel some pain but not very much so nothing to worry about, you can do whatever you want with no fear of Death or Injury.
It's not just a memory! you're actually aware you're Dreaming as you're Dreaming and it feels real!

Don't give up man, it's well worth it when you start getting higher quality Lucid's!

One problem with lucid dream inducing. There seems to be a lag.
      Let me explain through example.
I first read on here about entering a lucid dream from an awakened state.
I tried many times for this to happen. Probably over a week, or two ( Can't quite remember how long )
Then I sort of gave in. I flopped on the bed and drifted off for a second, the next thing I know, I am in an OOBE state.
I had surpassed my goal, but it took a while doing it.
It seems like ideas that you need to get through to your subconcious take a while to sink in.
Just keep at it for a week or so, then forget about it all together. It works for me.

In the few LD's that I had, I actually didn't even had the opportunity to practice dream control at all, because my dream self was retarded and just didn't think at all. I had no control of myself.
I actually tried meditation for a few weeks, but eventually gave up too. There's always noise in my house. But maybe I'll try again during the summer holidays.

I would recommend journaling your dreams. This may help in the LD'ing department.
I would also look into SSILD 宇宙ã®é“: Senses Initiated Lucid Dream (SSILD) Official Tutorial
I know everyone has their preferred method. It is a form of WBTB and seems like sound reasoning.

I have been journaling my dreams since i first begun, like 2 years ago.
This SSILD method looks interesting. I will definitely give it a try.

I would advise making goals while awake for the next lucid dream you encounter, be they purely recreational or something more. If you're really serious about them your dream self will remember them once you get lucid, you might then decide to go more or less with whatever it's happening but the goal is available. Then of course, proper stabilization and perhaps a little bit of quick intellectual mind exercises will also help bring a lot more clarity to your dream self.

I get goosebumps every time I watch this. most of the things said can be applied to lucid dreaming.

"You, the people, have the power, the power to create machines, the power to create happiness! You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure."

I have probably watched every motivational video on youtube, but had never related them to lucid dreaming before. Makes sense though. Usually I'd watch/listen to them before going to the gym and exercised 10x better.

I just wrote a long explanation of what makes me stay motivated here: http://www.dreamviews.com/wake-initi...ml#post2028875

Although the summary of it probably is: Never focus on the things that is out of your control.

Attaining a lucid dreaming isn't completely out of your control, although since it's not a push of a button I suggest you don't focus on it anyway.
Instead focus on what is within your control and find joy in that and trust the journey.

I actually find the practise of my technique and the lessons I learn from it far more interesting than the experiences that it produce.

And here is a little quote:

If you focus on change you will get result, but if you focus on result you will never change.

This is in a longterm perspective. If you focus on things outside of your control and are not enjoying the process, well you will either stop or get frustrated.
But if you can enjoy the process by being motivated by learning and progressing, well then you will learn and progress.
So see every failure, and every hurdle as an oppurtunity to overcome it, because when you do, you grow as a person.

Goals are a good way to do this, but keep in mind to only set goals that are within your control. Like: Make 3 attempts rather than Get 3 lucid dreams.

      Good luck!

      Hi Mastermind,
it's really interesting that you posted this, because lately I have been realizing exactly this, that the more you disconnect yourself from the results and the more you find enjoyment in the process, generally the better the results will be and the more fun you'll have. Thank you for your input

Believe in yourself, if you believe in yourself hard enough, you will become motivated to keep doing it.
You sleep about half of the time you are alive, you might as well enjoy that time.
