Make a plan of what you want to do in a lucid. Then daydream about it. Make up a story you want to experience. Do you want to be part of your favorite anime or videogame? Or just walk down the beach or forest meadow? Daydream about that. Think about how beautifull and cool it will be.
Do the WBTB, and when WILDing, recall your daydream and continue with it. Know, that no matter what will happen, nothing can hurt you. There is a very good chance, that you will be so occupied with your pleasant thought, that you will not have time to be scared. And if some scary thought pops up, just let it be, say to yourself that it's ok, you are not scared, you are safe in your bed.
Even if this won't work on the first try, the more times you try, you will see that really nothing scary is happening. Every next try you will be more confident.
And if I understand your post correctly, you have never experienced anything scary while WILDing, so your worry is hypothetical. Don't let something that will probably never happen ruin your LDing, even before it started. happy dreams
