      Fickle dreaming

Right now i'm having trouble lucid dreaming. I dream on a nightly basis atleast one everytime. When it is vivid enough or strange things are happening to me i still do not realize i'm dreaming. I can have vivid dreams where i am controlling the dream or flying but its like im just dreaming of the act without lucid dreaming it into the actual act. Any tips?

      Welcome to DV Martinito!

It is quite normal not to realize a lot of strange things happening around you in your dreams even when you've established a practice. Spotting oddities comes with time and steady effort and even then it's not always the most reliable way to get there, if you want to take the "inside job" approach to lucidity you could start questioning reality right here and now through awareness practices and reality checks. That way the whole dream in itself is a potential question and not only some event your dream self is likely to bypass, dreaming unconsciously and uncritically is supported by the brain by default, it's in our chemistry so to speak.

If you can have vivid dreams where you're doing nice things one of the best advices I can give you is to learn to appreciate them! Don't take them for granted, take joy in every step of the way, and try to increase their detail and vividness even more by virtue of dream recall (yes, it is possible and essential).

There's a lot of great techniques out there for you to explore like ADA, DEILD, SSILD, many different WILD approaches etc. Check out the induction techniques section of the forum, it's a good place to start.

You got more than you asked for but I'm just in the mood to try and be helpful so... xD

Good luck and have fun around here!
