I believe what's happening is that you are dreaming about lucid dreaming. Its fairly common, though annoying. Luckily, it serves as a general indicator that you are well on your way to a true lucid. Also, your username is amazing. |

Hi, I've been attempting lucid dreaming and the DILD technique for 3 weeks now constantly doing reality checks, about 10 spread out each day, along with constantly questioning my surroundings and environment and writing in my dream journal every morning on my iPod notes. Always asking myself am I dreaming ? All day every day and I now consistently remember my dreams (about 4-6 per night) however I still haven't had a lucid dream, but I've come close as in I've had a few dreams where I do reality checks but don't realise I'm dreaming or ill do them or not and know I'm dreaming out of the blue but even though I start changing the dream I don't become conscious :S so it's more like my subconscious realises its dreaming, I'm so confused. What does this mean and am I close to having my first proper lucid dream ? |

Ah right I see well that is annoying aha, but reassuring to say the least so now I know it should be soon until my first true lucid dream, sweet ! It's great that I know what it is now because ill just say I thought I was having lucid dreams but like layer 1 LD's. Nice to know you like my username I use it for practically everything lol and thanks for the reply! |

If you keep telling yourself while your awake, "this is all a dream" it can work. It worked for me. Throughout the day just stop and assert to yourself, "none of this is real, this is a dream". Then when you assert this as you are actually in a dream the assertion will be true and you will know this immediately. Trust me. Then the instant you understand you're dreaming, demand your surroundings to fill in with greater detail. |

Hmm that's an interesting idea to be fair, so it acts much like a replacement tool for the idea of asking yourself "am i dreaming?" all day every day. Although i could see a flaw in it that if i keep saying this then surly im going to want to start changing things but in reality i cant :S so i begin to tell myself false interpretations of my surroundings ? i think im over complicating it aha but hey its something i will be sure to give a go and see how it works out! Yeah i always think to myself when thinking of things to do in my first lucid dream is that the very first things i will do is rub my hands together and shout out clarify me for better clarity. Thanks for the post BTW |
