awakening for FILD/CANWILD in uncomfortable position

For the past few days I've been trying a combination of FILD and CANWILD with no success. When the CANWILD alarm wakes me up in the middle of night, I don't move when I hear my alarm, but I always find myself in some ridiculous position that's not comfortable and can't help me focus; i guess i move around in my sleep alot. I want to roll over and get on my back to begin the transition process, but you're not supposed to move at all during this technique. What do I do? Should I tough out my bad position and not move, or is it ok to roll over?

CANWILD works best with WBTB ( i sleep for 3,5 hours and stay awake for 2,5 h ). Then i set my timer ( timers4me ) to ring every 15 min for 2 seconds.

If the alarm hits in REM then i have a good chance to OBE, specially if i am on my back. This position is good for OBE and sleep paralysis, try to get used to it. And yes itīs best if you stay quiet. However, never give up if you move ( you still have chances )

If you find it uncomfortable to get sleepy on your back, then you can first relax on your favourite position and shift to your back when you feel you are just close to fall asleep. In order to relax and practice some induction technique without falling asleep i sleep on my side with my elbow upright ( check this ). If i fall asleep, my elbow falls and i wake up, so i know itīs time to shift my position and falling asleep or trying WILD/OBE. Most of the time itīs the alarm that does the trick.

My sucess rate is around 66% per night ( around 20 attempts so far ) and is improving steadily. It works better when i follow my steps carefully, if i meditate on my wbtb, or if do some daytime RCs, of course..

This is all i know about CANWILD. Hope it helps
Check your memory, did any suprising event happpen ? does the present make sense ? visualize what you will do when lucid, and how. Reality check as reminder of your intention to lucid dream tonight. Sleep as good as you can; when going to sleep, relax and invite whatever comes with curiosity. Grab your dream journal immediately as you awake and write everything you can recall (if only when you wake up for good). Keep calm, positive and persistent, and don't forget to have fun along the way

Thanks that's helpful. I'll try waking back to bed sometime (although 2.5 hours is a bit long for me). I lke that elbow trick too.

Technically speaking 2,5 hours is not a typical WBTB, itīs byphasic sleep. It has the advantage of REM rebound and i think itīs superior to typical WBTB.

Now i can do it while i am on vacation then i have to adjust..

But you can do great with less than an hour for sure.
