There are multiple ways to stay lucid, but the best in my opinion is taking in the detail. Rather than go off and do stuff as soon as you go lucid, try standing still and looking around at wherever you are, taking in all the detail around you and amazing yourself by the vividness of the dream. Paying close attention to the vividness and detail can help ground you in the dream. |

When I become lucid it's far more likely for the dream to fade away and I'll wake up or slip into a non-lucid dream, rather than completely losing lucidity in that same dream. Of course my level of awareness will decrease over time if I don't do anything about it. As far as keeping that awareness up I think Dragonworkz nailed it on the head so I won't sit here and repeat him but my personal favorite when the dream is starting to fade out is to grab onto something and concentrate on the appearance and feel of it. |
