      Semi-lucid or Vivid Dream?

As the title suggests, I'm unsure how to define a dream I had last night. As I only started trying to lucid dream two weeks ago, I guess I should start before I fell asleep.

I went to bed around two o'clock. I was tired, and before falling asleep my eyes were rapidly moving back and forth. In the dream I was sitting at the top of my bed. I was playing the Xbox game Fifa 14. Instead of being at the foot of my bed, my television was fixed to the wall. I thought to myself that this was odd, but continued playing the game. After a few moments, I saw that I had two copies of the same player in my team. This time I realised that what I was experiencing wasn't real, and that I had no idea how I came to be on my bed. I turned around and a saw a bump under my covers. For a second I thought it would turn out to be my dog, but saw that the shape was bigger. I laughed at myself and said "Nah, that's something evil." I then woke up to my body vibrating for a few seconds before awaking completely.

You questioned the dream, which does make it a lucid dream.

Next time, be sure to do a couple of reality checks - these will assure you that you are, in fact, dreaming.

I would alos recommend not thinking the way you had in your dream. Thinking that there was something bad under the covers will make something bad appear under there. Be positive, and remember that dreams are all about expectations and intentions.

      Thanks for the reply.

It was a lucid dream. Well, I'm chuffed

To be honest, I was worrying about what exactly a lucid dream was like, and whether I was in store for something terrible. My fear's obviously got the better of me. In fact, it was the moment that the bump changed from possibly being my dog to being something evil that made me unsure what I had experienced. It seemed to immediately change by itself.

As for reality checks, will do. I am actually a little disappointed that I didn't have the awareness to do them, but I was more baffled at what was happening than anything else. Everything was so real. When I saw that I had two copies of the same player I tried to work out logically why this was so, then it hit me that I had zero idea how I got onto my bed.
