Hey, I'm a new member; stumbled across this website from Google and it was the only one that didn't look like it was trying to sell me some product that will magically do anything I need so I decided to register here

I was talking to a friend who is a lucid dreamer and he told me all about it, and after reading about it I think the method he was trying to describe was WILD.

However, I do write a lot of my dreams down and I usually do remember at least my last dream upon waking up. I decided that the next time I would wake up I would try to pull myself back into the dream. First time I took a nap specifically for this to happen but when I woke up I moved and didn't realise I wasn't supposed to until a few seconds too late.

This morning I woke up from a somewhat weird nightmare and remembered it perfectly; then I remembered I wanted to Lucid Dream so I thought about the scene in the nightmare in my head (nothing scary, just our kitchen really...) but without trying to focus on the.. antagonist of the nightmare. Suddenly after a few seconds I felt a weight on my chest; my ears started ringing and it felt as if I was being sucked/spiraling into something. I got too scared and snapped out of it at the last moment..

I read about it and I think the ringing in my ears/weight on my chest is normal (but confirm that please) but before I try this again I'd like to know exactly what is going to happen. Will I just find myself back inside the dream/nightmare? Will I be able to control it? Can I wake up if I want to or will I be in Sleep Paralysis (main reason why I didn't try out WILD)? etc...

I'll make sure to post my first experience on the forums once I have it, Cheers!
