Was this DILD just pure luck?

I am so awful at DILD.. out of my only 11 LDs, only 3 of them have been DILDs. Everything else has been WILD. Last night I managed to have a DILD in the middle of the night, here's how it went:

"All I can remember is looking at a website page, I see two links of lucid dreaming websites, but they are shorter than they should be, instead of a complete link there are dots. I tell myself that's odd, I really should start doing reality checks whenever something weird happens. And then slowly, skeptically but surely I start to realize that I'm dreaming. When I fully realize it, I notice the dream is beginning to fade so I rub my hands together quickly, but all I can see is blackness and the dream's over."

Does anyone know if that was just pure luck? Because for the past few weeks I've been struggling a lot to raise my awareness during daytime, not staying on auto-pilot, being mindful, doing reality checks, stuff like that, and I'm hoping it's finally beginning to pay off, that my dream awareness is starting to heighten, but I might be wrong, might've been just random, what do you think?

Some extra info, if it matters:
-I've been training for LD for about 3 months
-The day before this DILD I managed to remember 8 dreams, which was a sudden large improve in dream recall
-Before falling asleep last night I said to myself, really, really casually, only once "I must remember to become lucid tonight.."

I don't think it's luck, as you have remembered about RCing in your dream and you realise in your dream "this is weird, I've gotta do an RC". Which is one of the main steps towards DILD.

And you say you've not been focusing on awareness training during daytime, well people say on here sometimes people train too hard to have a LD, but when people just go with the flow and not stress themselves out trying to achieve lucidity, they achieve good results. That could be the case for you.

Sheldon: No, the X-men were named for the X in Charles Xavier. Since I am Sheldon Cooper, you will be, my C-men.

Not luck, awareness. You must be doing RCs the correct way.

Keep it up, and this "luck" will come for frequently
