is doing reality checks reasonable for DILD?

I've been doing them but I rarely, and very rarely remember in normal dream to get lucid and remember to do reality check.so what use?I always believed they'd work normally once,so I'd get lucid at least twice a week,or once, but no.I believed they'd work but now what use?shall I continue working on it?

RCs are good for DILD, yep, but the key thing for DILD is awareness! If you're not aware in real life, then what makes you think you'll be aware in dreams? Great guide here: http://www.dreamviews.com/induction-...kingyoshi.html It's also good for dream recall, since you're paying more attention to details.

A good RC is definitely the nose pinch one. Very reliable, and you can do it at any time since your nose is always (hopefully) there. You can choose whatever you wish to use, but I'd suggest two RCs as one can fail in a dream.

      Hope this helps a bit!

I second everything AstralMango said. Reality checks are just to confirm if you're dreaming. The reason we do them in waking life is to build awareness and awareness is what will make you lucid.

When you RC, take the time to observe your surroundings and really question if you're dreaming. Check out that guide AstralMango linked.

Most people just like to take the quick way to gain lucid dreams, which is still useful. But Dream Journals is an effective way also. Do dream journals for a little bit. 4 weeks at the max, one week at the minimum. Then after you have a good understanding of it. Check out the stuff that happens a lot in your dreams. Say you realize cheese always pops up in your dreams. Make a list of main elements of your dreams and every time something related to your dream sign comes up, reality check. This is effective because it nearly all the time will make you reality check during a dream, and it helps with your dream recall.
