Personally this actually didn't scare me really it more creeped me out but I did think it fit the criteria for a lucid nightmare. I experience a sense of extreme to absolute confidence when lucid I feel relaxed and mellowed out and I kinda just seem to over look things that would normally strike fear in me. For example in waking life ever since I seen the movie insidious I kind of fear things or people just standing out of place and staring in a specific spot, I know this might not make sense but the logic for this fear is because when there in that state it seems ominous to me and I don't know what to expect. So one lucid dream I walked by my living room and this small child was sitting on my couch staring directly in front of her I looked at her for a second and was just like huh.. And I walked off to the next room. So basically while lucid I'm not scared by what scares me in real life. So I had this one dream before I was lucid I was on the computer playing a game this ominous looking figure in the game was following my character. He was making me uncomfortable and I wanted to lose him so I grabbed my teleport spell and teleported to a deep usually deserted area of the game just like I would if I was playing the game in reality. But the figure I was trying to get away from followed me there he then began running after me and I was running away from him. The screen then got a small bright white crack in it the crack got bigger and bigger till the whole screen was bright white and I couldn't see anything. I started to freak out because my character was about to die but with the bright light in my face I suddenly realized I was dreaming. My will to keep my character alive then left me because I knew it wasn't real and didn't matter. But then suddenly I lost full control and I felt paralyzed and everything around me was pitch black. I then was lifted up and felt myself flying in the direction my computer was when I flew through the computer the next thing I know is I'm laying in bed and my room is lit with a golden tinted light but I wasn't fooled I knew I was still dreaming. I was laying on my side still paralyzed and only could see the wall I then started to feel myself being grabbed and dragged around my bed. I didn't try to look directly at it but from looking at my wall I could see it's shadow, it's shadow was bodiless all the thing was, was a bunch of thin unhuman looking hands flopping around me like tentacles. I didn't have much thoughts on it but what I did think is "well this is creepy as hell, but well it is still just a dream" so it was creepy but it really did fail to scare me. I then noticed a large hole in front of me. The hole was like a portal the hole was not on a wall, ceiling, bed or any other physical object. The hole was hovering slightly above me in midair. The hole was almost like a mirror I could see my room through it. I interrupted it as a hole to reality because the hole seemed to reflect on my room as it truly is in reality. Still paralyzed I focused on the hole and used my mind to hurl myself through the hole and then I woke up. Thinking about it the ominous guy chasing my character in the game making that coexisted with myself and that hand monster thing, so when the screen went white the guy caught my character and in turn it caused the hand monster to catch me. Anyways that lucid dream was just a while ago it's just I was wondering if that's what a lucid nightmare was. Or do you have to be scared for it to be a lucid nightmare?
