Cool Can you have other stuff in your dream journal?

Hello guys! It's been 3 years and I have finally returned to lucid dreaming! in the past i don't think i ever kept a dream journal and my dream memory was pretty shoddy so I have returned with a new mindset. I've got a journal with me here right now and already set it up for writing down lucid dreams, just here to ask a question that: does it matter if I have other stuff in my dream Journal? Such as writing down lucid dreaming techniques or would you keep it purely for writing down your dreams? Thanks for the help as always guys =) Plus: Do you think drawing pictures in your DJ is a good idea?

Well I'd say that it's completely up to you and what kind of information you want in your DJ. I can take my own DJ as an example. I've written down a few of my goals that I want to achieve in a Lucid Dream and I also draw pictures. Pictures are good since it makes it more vivid and easier to remember.

      Hope That helps.

You should have all the things that you think will be important to you. For example, my dream journal has the full description of the dream, the day/month/year it occurred, the day of week.
Sometimes it has also a drawing of the scenario, the technique i used, the time that the dream occured, the position i was dreaming and a final note to correct some mistakes in the future.

This has been helpful has now i'm finding a pattern in my dreams regarding the day of the week, position of sleeping, etc.

thank you guys! I'm starting tonight so will try your ideas =) and another question is how quickly have you guys seen results with DJ's? I hardly remember more than a couple dreams a week (without a conscious effort) at this point in time.

Dream Journaling isn't a mystical way to LD, it is a tool to help you learn what makes you more aware and what makes you remember more. I would recommend putting all sorts of things in your dream journal.

Here is a thread I made about the different things that can be good in your DJ.
      How to effectively Dream Journal

Also, in response to your name:

Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there.

I think that three days you should notice an increase (if you already have dreams to work with) and you will start remembering more and more. It takes a couple months to get some real good recall, but after I had spent about 4 months on good recall, I found out that I wasn't even remembering full dreams, because the super long dreams that I had been experiencing once a night that I thought was something special turned out to be how every dream is if you remember it. I then started remembering 2, then 3, then 4, then finally an average of 6 adventures a night that seem to last forever long and every night is like a vacation to crazy town! It is hard to hit the peak of recall, so in closing, it should increase at the beginning, but I don't know the limit.

Yes, crazy people. I am one of the crazies that live in both! Owl City has probably the most LDing lyrics I have heard, I stole that quote from him, as well as this one:
Splash down in the silver screen
      Into a deep dramatic scene
      I swim through the theater
Or maybe I'm just a dreamer
Like a kite in the bright midday
      Wonder stole my breath away
      Shy sonata for Mercury
The stars always sing so pretty

      This picnic will soon depart
Real life, I'm sad to see you go
I'll miss you with all my heart
      But I'd rather be alone
      'Cause I couldn't live without
Sunsets that dazzle in the dusk
So I'll drag the anchor up
And rest assured, 'cause dreams don't turn to dust
