      When should I wake up?

So usually I sleep at around 12:30-1am, I usually then wake up at 5. For the past three days my dream recall has been poor, I did however have a lucid dream yesterday morning that lasted for a couple of seconds, but it is a very foggy memory and I only just remembered it. What is the best time for me to wake up so I have the best chance of remembering my dreams? I would happily set my alarm to wake me up multiple times if it means a better chance of remembering my dreams. Also what do you think would be the best time to do a MILD/WBTB based on the time I go to sleep?

All help would be greatly appreciated

Do you have to be out of bed at a certain time for work or anything?

Generally you want 6-8 hours of sleep. It is way better for sleep if it is between 10-6, but depending on schedules and things, you prolly aren't gonna hit that every night. I generally get to bed 1130 and wake up at 7. It is good to be on the higher end of 6-8 hours, especially at the beginning of your dreaming experience.

For me the most sucess i have is when i can have a lay in, say around 9oclock is when im most likely to realise im dreaming. However monday to friday i have work and am much less aware at that point where im tired. If you can have a lay in and try the WBTB technique then id recommened that

Yeah I'll wake up at 5, write my dream as I WILL remember a dream, then wake myself up at 7 do a wbtb and sleep until 10.

This only applies to lucid dreams, generally, but if you are looking to remember them very clearly, always make yourself wake up after you feel you are finished in the dream. Better to wake yourself up than to have the dream be lost.

As for remembering regular dreams, I like to wake up after my REM cycles, which I have down to a schedule right now, surprisingly. Dream recall is, obviously, better at these times. There are charts out there that show you the phases of REM during different times of the night.
