Lucid Dreaming and the Mayan Language

About 20 years ago, I worked for a man who mentioned to me that his father had been retired for about 10 years. Concerned that I would be retiring sometime in the future, and knowing the kind of person I am, I was worried that I might become bored with my life during retirement, and asked what he did to pass his time. I was very surprised and motivated by his answer. He said " Oh, he's busier now than he ever was before. He travels all over the country attending symposiums and speaking at conferences. While he had a job, he was an engineer. But after he retired, he got interested in the Mayan language, and the challenge going on at that time to try to break the code."

No one knew how to read the Mayan language at that time, and he was collaborating on the internet with a significant group of people, to try to compile all the known information, and eventually solve this puzzle. I remember thinking "Wow! That's exactly the kind of retirement I want! I knew then and there when I retired I had to find my own "Mayan Language" mystery-type challenge to collaborate on for my retirement. But it would have to be something that REALLY MOTIVATED me. I even worried that something like the Mayan Language would get old for me. so i started looking out for such a challenge.

Well, the rest is history as far as the Mayans. I recall reading maybe 10 or 15 years ago that the Mayan Language had finally been cracked and could now be read. Those guys actually did it!

When I discovered Lucid Dreaming 4 years ago, I never dreamed how incredible it would be. I just recently realized it was my perfect "Mayan Language" challenge I had been looking for. Although not yet retired (but close) I am sure it will fill exactly what I was hoping to find. This is why I love collaborating on DreamViews, and am asking questions an learning from others. I hope someday we can "crack the code" for lucid dreaming, so we all learn how it works and how to induce and control them at will. I think this challenge will take a long time for me...likely beyond my lifetime....but it will certainly give me that motivating challenge I was looking for, and finally found.

I see what you did there.

Anyways, I like this story. Someday, I hope to really crack the code on everything in lucid dreaming. Hell, even to find the reason we dream in the first place.

I have a feeling someone on Dreamviews is going to be somewhere in that contribution.

I agree. In fact they already have contributed hugely toward that goal. I know I have learned a lot here well beyond the books I have read.

Yes! Someday soon I plan on cracking the code to Lucid Dreaming at will. I believe that alot of it has to do with ourselves. Maybe soon we can all Lucid Dream effortlessly at will and finally get deep into our own imagination and adventures without difficulty!

      Goals:
-Become Lucid in every dream every night
      -Perfect the time dilation watch
-Continue to have a dream plan for most of my lucid dreams

A lucid dreaming pill you can take before bed, would be class.
