Pensive Patrick, are you or have you ever been interested in the occult? By "occult," I mean supernatural practices, like magic or performing miracles. I ask because it seems like you wish you could do these things (fly, breath underwater, etc.) in waking life, or else you would categorize them in a box of dream phenomena and exclusively recognize them as such. Since you do not recognize them exclusively as dream phenomena, you are not able to recognize them as dream signs.

dreamtamer007,
I’ve decided the most important dream I would like to have would be first to be totally aware of my lucidity wile realizing at the same time the body is in bed in said room at said address with no doubt what so ever of the true state that my dreaming mind and sleeping body. This may not sound like an exciting dream to have but once fully aware of the true states of being I think from there anything may be possible.[/b]
These are what some of my best lucid dreams are like. It helps, I suppose, to have begun the lucid dream in one's room, like an OBE. Next, it helps to have a habit or strategy of keeping this in close proximity in your memory. For instance, I once flew out of my house and straight up into the sky, while looking down at my back yard and the houses around it, with the intention of staying oriented around my home. Of course, the scenery changed and I was in a dizzying sky, settling down on a floating island, but I did not forget that I was in the sky because I had flown up from my house. This functioned as kind of like a trail of bread crumbs... Also, if you speak to dream characters, tell at some point that you are dreaming, that you are actually in your bed at home, and that you are able to speak with them because you are dreaming. This helps you stay focused and reminded, as well as providing some interesting conversations.
