I think i had my first LD

Had some really busy weeks, with exams and all, so i took my mind off lucid dreaming a bit (but doing RCs daily) and,
this Tuesday, i decided to take a nap late afternoon and i ended up sleeping til dinner .

I have the memory of being in my room looking at my hands (my usual RC) and they were translucid and blurry, like made of water.
I try to change them and they seem to alter slightly but still all water-like so i look around and then i seem to lose my focus and bye-bye dream.

      Was it a true LD?

At any point in the dream were you aware that you were dreaming? Did you "wake-up" in the dream and become conscious? If you did that then it was an LD but if you never fully realized you were dreaming then you may have been semi-lucid, but I'm not certain. Any more experienced dreamers wanna answer the question better if I answered it wrong or didn't fully answer it?

From your description, Primeape, it sounds like a non-lucid dream to me. Sometimes you don't know you're dreaming, but you act as if you somehow internally know that you are not in reality. This is called having a layer 0 major level of lucidity. (http://projectwaking.wordpress.com/2...a-lucid-dream/) One more level up and you would have become lucid.

Stay on the right track and you should be lucid soon.

That's the thing, i did not "feel" the emotion of "Wow i'm dreaming!", so my first thought was that i wasn't fully aware. Well it's something at least
Thanks for the replies guys, i'll keep at it!

Just keep up the good work! The good news is, is that means you are getting closer to your first LD! Your practice is definitely paying off...so stay with it.

This is the attitude of a true lucid dreamer.

Just keep at it, and it's inevitable. I've seen people practice for months, years even, and only have one lucid. They had that lucid though, and they achieved what they wanted to do.
You'll eventually build up to a point, if you are dedicated enough, of having a few lucids every week, or even night!

      I got it!!
After a string of dreams I found myself in a bathroom, I looked at the mirror and saw me as in waking life. I turned around and noticed it was not my bathroom!.
I thought "I'm dreaming!" and it was like Sharpshoey said: I woke up in the dream, conscious of my surroundings.
The room felt pretty real, but sadly I forgot to rub my hands due to the excitement and the dream faded away...
Have to practice that stabilization now
