A strange experience during a DILD

Hello DV! This my first post on the site, and I thought I would share one of my DILDs that had that left me perplexed about what had happened. It went like this:

I went to sleep neither with the goal of having a WILD or DILD. Sometime after that I awoke and walked out of my room and into the hallway, which was when I realized that I hadn't actually awoken. Before I realized that fact everything was so convincingly real that I thought that I was actually awake. What tipped me off that I was actually dreaming was an unusual sensation in my body; I was standing in the hallway and I noticed the sensation of feeling my two feet on the ground, but at that same moment I felt the sensation of lying down in bed, and I remembered that I was actually asleep. I stood there for a minute taking in the sensations: I was looking at my feet on the ground in the hallway, feeling them on the ground, and also feeling my sleeping body resting on my bed. Then I closed my eyes, and when I opened them again the experience had reversed: I was laying in my bed, glancing at the room and down at my feet, I could feel myself laying in bed, and could still feel my two feet planted on the ground in the hallway. The whole time I was very intrigued about what was happening and proceeded to reverse my conscious point of view from laying in bed to standing in the hallway a couple more times, still with the sensations of both, before eventually ending up in a completely waking state in my bed.

Once I reached my full waking state after the experience, and by the way I had not lost my sense of awareness between the experience and coming to my waking state, I layed in bed pondering what had happened. I believe that what I was feeling was essentially my dream body (in the hallway) and my physical body (in bed), but I don't limit myself to that being the only conclusion.

I'd love to hear any ideas about what you think was happening, and any questions about the experience as well. Thanks for taking your time to read this.

It sounds to me like you're right. I imagine the sensation you felt while in your dream was your physical body, and you probably felt both because you just entered the dream or because you were thinking about it.

The only other thing I could think of was that, because you were /thinking/ about feeling your real body or the sensation of laying down, you felt it. And maybe because you expected yourself to 'switch' consciousnesses like you experienced, you did. This has happened to me before in the sense that in a non-lucid dream, I pondered what it would be like to see myself in 3rd person, and then I saw it at the same time as I was seeing my own first person perspective. it was very strange.

Anyway good luck with your dreams and such! Hopefully this was helpful
