Have you ever had an experience like this?
It happened to me last night, and I found it very fascinating.
It started out with me sitting somewhere at university and listening to "Go West" on my headphones, and then suddenly a lot of other students starting digging to that song on their own headphones and making gestures together to the music.
I found this behaviour a little bit strange, not enough to become lucid but at least enough to decide that I would be more aware in the future.
Then I had a False Awakening and woke up in my mother's former home (which was a major dreamsign, since I fell asleep in my student apartment!), and yet I just kind of assumed that I was awake.
But there was something weird about the atmosphere, it's very hard to describe but I felt ambivalent about my existence, almost like a ghost.
So I tried the Reading Check on a piece of writing, and at first it seemed normal - but then I seemed to notice a slight change!
So I did many more reading tests, until there was no longer any doubt - I was dreaming!
At this point I immediately left the house (through the front door, since that felt more natural ), and then jumped up and flew away, and it felt surprisingly natural.
At this point I "woke up" in another dream, but I thought I was awake, and I could still remember the lucid dream!
I had woken up in my mother's current home, where she lives right now.
And now something pretty odd happened - for some reason I thought that I had been able to carry over my flying abilities over to what I thought was waking life, and I thought I would surprise her by flying up to her bedroom window, which is about 20 feet above ground.
She looked slightly amazed at first, but her overall reaction was pretty much just "hey, you are flying! that's interesting! but shouldn't you get down again, on safe ground?".
Certainly not the reaction I expected, I thought she would be more like "what...?! how...?!" or something.
Anyway, I woke up shortly after that.
