      Subconscious Dream Journal ?

Are forgotten dreams stocked in our subconscious memory ?
If yes, is it possible to remember a forgotten non-lucid dream with the help of a lucid dream ?
For exemple while reading our "virtual" dream journal in lucid dreaming ?

I dreamt that I had created a card game, and was testing it by playing with friends.
I don't remember the rules of the game, exept few key words, but it was a very cool game, and I want to try it in real life.
Is it possible that the game doesn't really exist, but was just a cheat from my mind to makes me believe the game was cool ?
And in reality the rules was completly non sense ?

Quite a complicated topic Gusto, since there's still no consensus over these aspects of memory. Technically, you can still retrieve memories, but you still have to remember that memory is not a photograph, is a simulation, and it draws from many many places of your brain, being altered every time you recall it, something similar, or integrate new information. At some point, you even have to deal with false memories, which unlike most people think, are way more relevant in dream recall than we previously thought.
Now that I think about it, there is a Brazilian lucid dreamer (can't recall the name atm) that tested something around this lines: he used lucid dreams to recover childhood memories. He was quite successful if I recall!

That said, most (if not all) dreams are lost forever due the natural neurobiological processes that accompany the transition between rem and wakefulness if you don't manage to get consciously recall them within a short frame of time, so most likely what you'll be retrieving will be false memories. Still, worth the try!

I have wondered about this too. I believe in the theory that everything you have ever witnessed is stored somewhere in your memory.
I tried to invoke some childhood memories that I don't remember just saw myself on some old photos. I tried to make remake that scene in my LD and hoped that I might feel that moment again like regaining that lost memory but didn't succeed so far so I cannot confirm if it's possible or not.
Just writing this as a possible suggestion that you might try in your dreams.

It's probable that we remember a lot more than we can recall consciously - you only have to see the results of hypnotism to see that, but I do think we must have a limit to the depth of our memories, only because we have finite numbers of neurons.
I don't think an LD will help, because this is essentially only partly waking the conscious brain to be able to better witness the unconscious.
However, maybe if you asked your subconscious to present a scene that was from your past? Perhaps that could work? Pretty high-level stuff to be able to interact with your sub-conscious in an LD though!
