Thread: Dream Mapping?

Hey dreamers!

It's been a long time since I've been online, but something has bothered me for a long time now. It is a personal dream of mine to be able to do it, but I don't have the motivation to try and lucid dream at the moment.

Have some of you tried to map your dream world? Places you've went and how they correlate to each other? What kind of dream characters that live in the different areas? Is it even possible?

I've always wanted to try this, but I'm not a naturally born LD'er, which means it sometimes come and sometimes go.

I tried to make a map of my dream world once when I was a kid, although it didn't take very many dreams into account. I have, however, noticed certain geographical features that don't exist IWL but keep occurring in my dreams. For example, in some of my dreams there is a street that runs alongside the edge of a giant gorge about half a mile or so from my house. There is also a mountain further to the north. I have walked along the street and seen or visited the mountain in many dreams, and they always seem to be in approximately the same place relative to my house.

I have been wanting to do this for a while but I've never actually started doing it, shame on me . I too am interested into how consistent it could get, and I find the idea of drawing your dreams rather than writing them down could be even better for recall and dream signs, well, if I had any artistic ability at all... hahaha.

Interestingly, many of the other people in the thread also report having large structures to the north of their homes in their dream worlds. For the people in the old thread, those structures are temples or giant trees, as opposed to the mountain in my dream landscape. Kadath, from H. P. Lovecraft's novella "The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath," is another example of a structure like this.

I tried dream mapping but didn't give my attention to it enough to make it bigger. Zukin made a thread where her and others posted dream maps in the link below.
