Question I reached this point.. what's next ?!

      Hii DV users..
I started the whole journey with LDing a month ago..
yet I had 4 LDs.. 3 of them I woke immediately and one of them I remember rubbing my hands for 5 sec,,
closing my eyes to change the view.. but I woke in RL..
so.. how to continue and what to do immediately after realizing I'm dreaming.. since I don't want to wake up after 3 sec ?
      thanks

      Hi Khamaise!

First of all, congrats on the lucids you've had, that's most impressive in such a short period of time!

The best piece of advice I can give you is to take your time. I know it's oh so tempting to just jump right into all of the crazy stuff you've been dying to do once lucid, but don't (at least not yet!). First thing is first, ground each of your senses one by one. This will not only help you fully integrate your dream body into the scene, but it will also increase your lucidity and lessen your chance of waking so easily.

Once you feel you are stabilized, you can begin to experiment with the environment. I would suggest trying smaller tasks first, such as talk to a DC, or even explore the scene a bit. I hope this helps

      Hey there,

In addition to the great advice by Chewnie, also try to already have some idea of what you're going to be doing if you become lucid. If you're only goal is to become lucid, the dream will often simply stop there. So have something in mind for after you become lucid and have grounded yourself.

      Hey there,

With 4 LDs after having started only a month, seems like DILDs work out pretty well for you. Just about all of my lucid dreams over the years are DILDs as well (with a small handful of WILDs tossed in).

That said, I'd advice you to try other techniques based on what appeals to you. I've found that when it comes to sleeping and dreaming, our mind and body patterns are all different, and what works well for one person doesn't necessarily work for another. So experiment, see what works for you, and what doesn't, and don't be afraid to modify or adjust if it feels right. The added bonus in this is that'll you start to understand your own sleep and dream cycles better, and will be able to just tailor your own personal technique.

      Just my 2 cents,

Awakening immediately after becoming lucid is common for new lucid dreamers and even happens to experienced ones sometimes. This is mainly due to the physiological response of becoming excited when you realize you're dreaming. As you lucid dream more, you'll get better at staying asleep when you become lucid. If you're using a MILD mantra, you might want to incorporate something into it about staying calm and recognizing that you're in control once you become lucid.
