How long do your lucids last on average?

The reason i want to ask this is because lately i am having regular long lucid dreams (some lasting what seems like hours) which seem to have come out of nowhere. Before i would struggle to stay in a lucid for more that 15-20 minutes but know all of a sudden this, but i certainly am not complaining. (keep them coming)

So how long do your lucids last on average?

Lucid dreams only last up to fifteen minutes during normal sleep because that's how long your REM cycle is. During naps that number can go up to an hour, but usually not longer than that.

If you mean dream time, then that's relative to what's being done. Through time dialation it'd be possible to have dreams that lasted millenia. Mine are usually about two or three minutes in both dream time and real time.

On average, I'd say my lucids last at least 25 minutes.

Please tell me you can get these hour long lucids with experience; it must be AMAZING! I'd be happy with just a ten minute one! I have had 2 LDs about this length and in one I got nothing done so I was miserable, but in the other I spent all my time talking to these made up DCs who were my friends. Man, I was pretty ripped in the morning because I'd really felt I'd made good friends; and it was an LD but that's all I wanted to do!

Well normally my lucids are only a few minutes.

But the one I had last night was about 10 minutes. Last night was my first proper Lucid in my eyes though.

Yes you can get these long lucids with experience i have and so have many others, it is amazing btw. Before i would struggle to stay in the lucid but lately it's the other way around, i can even have full lucid sex without it effecting the lucid most times (touch wood) which i couldn't do before so once you master this it is awesome. It seems like i have mastered it but it's too early to say.

I know what you mean about making dream character friends, lots of them are awesome. Sometimes i just spend the whole lucid just hanging with them, but the down side is when you wake up you are gutted because you might never see them again.

I mean how long you were lucid for without losing lucidity.

If I am going to have a LD, I almost always end up having more than one at a time. Generally the first one is fairly short -- maybe 3 minutes. Then each one gets progressivly longer. My last dream of the night is generally the longest. Somenights (or naps) it feels like only 15 minutes, but other times I wake up and confused because I feel like I'd been dreaming for days. I don't always stay lucid through the whole thing, but I often do.

I, too, have a long way to go: most of my LDs are less than minute with the upper limit being around 3 minutes for the longest one.

Well, that's a hard question to answer. One of my lucids felt like it lasted hours, but when I awoke I realized I'd only been asleep for 30 minutes, and in that time span I'd had two different dreams! Time in dreams can be different from time in real life.

Sadly most of lucid dreams are very short - 30 seconds to 3 minutes.

A few months ago I had an incredibly power lucid dream that I estimate was 45-60 minutes. It was by far the longest lucid dream I've ever had. It was amazing, totally amazing.

I'd have to guess 30 minutes, give or take a few. I have some that seem to last a really long time every once in a while. I begin to wonder if I'm stuck. Lol

Yeh i get that feeling alot, i am lucid for like what seems like hours and then all of a sudden i think what if i'm stuck in the dream world and i never wake up and that results sometimes in me panicing and waking myself up.

When i wake up i am so P****d with myself.

How do you time a lucid dream if none of the clocks work?

DILDs tend to last until I accomplish whatever goals I could remember, on average. Then they go nonlucid. WILDs, though rare, last somewhat longer. That's my recent experience.
-LD Count since rejoining in Dec. 2009: 21

No dream goals at the moment...just flying and letting stuff happen is kinda fun, and it's hard to motivate myself to try LDing lately.

I became lucid about two months ago, sadly it only lasted 3 seconds. I've not become lucid since. :p

30 seconds / 1 minute... longest was maybe 5 minutes... and it doesn't seem to improve at all. I almost always wake up; and if I can stay in the dream, the lucid part is still short, only replaced by a regulard dream.
      Dec. 2006 - July 2007:
      92 DILDs + 30 WILDs ; 75% too short, 24% decent, ~3 of 2 to 5 minutes
      (I stopped counting after that)

I had another long lucid last night but i had a false awakening in which i used my digital voice recorder to record my lucid, and then when i woke up a few hours later i couldn't recall a thing! I also had another lucid but againt he false awakening!

I had never used my voice recorder before, tonight was going to be the first night so i am shocked that inmy false awakening i didn't write it down.
