      It's become kind of old hat

      Hey,

      I haven't been around here in a while. I'm still having LDs, but without really trying at all, and most of the time it seems like no big deal. Sometimes I will change something in the dream if I don't like it, but often I'll just continue in the same dream, only with the knowledge of it being a dream. There doesn't seem to be much excitement when it happens and rarely do I seem that motivated to do much with it, except maybe fly a bit. Could this be because of the frequency and the fact that they happen with no real effort on my part? I've always had them naturally my whole life. Anyway, that's why I popped back in here, to take a look at the tasks and see if going lucid becomes a bit more interesting.

      You may not feel very excited because of having natural abilities to lucid dream, but personally, i think it's because you're not fully aware of the potential benefits from lucid dreaming. For most beginners, the primary aim of lucid dreaming is to pretty much have fun, but at some stage, lucid dreamers will start to think more deeply, about making the most out of their sleeping periods. Some potential benefits include: improved metacognition (which helps in learning and achieving goals), communicating with your subconcious mind to suppress your "shadow" (dark side-fears) and even improving physical skills via neuroplasticity. It just makes you - a better you in general and can actually improve your life significantly.

      You have a gift, but it's so easy you don't know how special it is. It's not surprising because to you it's normal.
      If you're interested, why not read up a bit on what you can do with lucid dreaming? I'm thinking particularly of the opportunity to interact with your subconscious. There's a new frontier of discovery waiting there!
      Examples;
      Does your subconscious exist as an alter ego (like your conscious self but different), or does it only exist at a baser level (lust, greed etc.)?
      Does your subconscious have the same morality as your conscious self?
      How do you find out the answers to the above?

      Some people have said they can talk to their subconscious as a DC.

      Apologies if that is to heavy, but it's what I aspire to do if I can ever get 10% of the ability you appear to have.

      Yeah, I see what you all mean. When I came around here a couple years ago I didn't know there was a name for what I experienced. Anyway, I read through the tasks and I'll have a go at them, since I always enjoyed doing them before. Also, I might add that many times my dreams are pretty interesting and I see no need to change them, like the other night I went lucid flying a spaceship. No need to change that.

      Mm, I can understand not really wanting to change things because they're already interesting--but perhaps you should consider doing so. Tell your dream to show you something even more interesting than what you're seeing now, and see where that takes you.
      until the very end
