      Night terror every night!

For about two years, I have experienced a night terror within th first half hour of falling asleep. I start dreaming and see something, or sense something terrifying in my room, or on my bed, or next to the bed. Usually it is a male presence, shadow like to my left side. I can tell my mind is taking in whatever my eyes are seeing in my on, and translating it into a scary figure. I feel horrified during this, and can't move. Sleep paralysis. I learned a trick if scrunching up my face to wake myself up, but it is difficult, and I often moan, or call out in slurred jibberish. I freak my girlfriend out nightly.

This is nearly every night! 5 out of 7 nights at least.b it seemed to have started when I moved into my new house, but also take nerve pain medication. Oxycodone and Noratriptyline. These Ned's obviously affect the brain, and the central nervous system. I feel pretty confident the Medes are the culprit, but can't help but wonder? The male presence, the fear......the house was owned by only one other family, and the father was supposedly a very controlling, head strong man. I don't know? I just have accepted this will happen every night like clockwork. What do you think? Thanks.

      I agree, it is scary

I have had the same black humanoid figure silhouette enter my dreams. Sleep paralysis also came over me during the encounter. Only has happened to me a couple times, but thoroughly frightened me. I spoke to it in my dream, and it responded. Not good.

I BELIEVE IN SPIRITUAL ENERGY, STAY AWAY FROM THE NEGATIVE AND DARK, AND ALWAYS KEEP THE POSITIVE LIGHT BURNING

this is very similar to how the figure appeared in my dream at my doorway

      Hey there,

I used to have these dreams about some black, man-like but otherwise shapeless presence, always where I couldn't quite see it, never in focus, but accompanied by a feeling of downright terror. It sounds similar to what you describe.

I actually taught myself to recognize this as a dreamcue, and like you, learned to wake myself up. Then one night, when the dreamcue turned me lucid, I decided not to wake up. Instead I turn around and face this 'thing'. After all, it was in my dream, and it couldn't harm me. I sought it out, finally coming face to face with it in a corridor in a house I used to live in. There, as I refused to be afraid of it, it turned into a beautiful black panther before my eyes. The beast purred, I petted it and played with it, and the nightmare fell away. Since then, I've never dreamed of the terror again.

It was one of my most powerful and memorable dreams to this date (and incidentally the reason why I chose my avatar on dreamviews).

      Hi Searing75, priceleecushing

      And

Searing75, my mum used to get nightmares and paralysis when she was young and my Granddad told her to stop running in her nightmares, turn and face what's chasing her.

It took mum a long time to find the courage to do that but when she did her dark man turned into a cat then shrunk down into an affectionate pussy cat. Mum was about 12 years old.

Your ussername, Redrivertears, reminds me of this song sung by a little girl followed by the tears shed by the hiker:

(Like in the clip, I miss my mum too.)

It has been generally assumed that the many versions of this song are all derived from the tune "In The Bright Mohawk Valley", which James J. Kerrigan as the writer and was printed in New York in 1896. The song went west through changes in the seaboard and mountain states of the south. It became "The Red River Valley" and became a cowboy love song. Lomaxes noted: "This latter-day western piece stands as proof of what folk-singers can do to refine and purify a song which comes to them from a written source. From: The Red River Valley Re-Examined by Edith Fowke

      LYRICS

      RED RIVER VALLEY

      1
From this valley they say you are leaving
We shall miss your bright eyes and sweet smile
For you take with you all of the sunshine
That has brightened our pathways awhile

      CHORUS:
Then come sit by my side if you love me
Do not hasten to bid me adieu
Just remember the Red River Valley
And the cowboy has loved you so true

      2
For a long time my darling I've waited
For the sweet words you never would say
Now, at last, on my fond hopes that vanished
For they say that you're going away

Here is (to me) the most magnificent youtube of The Red River Valley.

      Can Nortriptyline cause Night Terrors?

      It's the drugs, man.

Brother, I've had bad chronic pain for the past 5 or 6 years. For about three years I was in severe to excruciating pain all day, all kinds of pain all over my body.
What I have found nerve pain and joint pain originate from like almost all illness, is from three main causes: septic toxicity, chemical toxicity, and chronic and acute dehydration. Both those drugs are toxic. Oxycodone, like all opiates are toxic and create gallstones in the liver which migrate to the gallbladder, and get stuck in our bile ducts preventing enough bile from going into our small intestine which neutralizes the acid from our stomach. This causes acid to go into the small intestine, which burns it, and chronic constipation. The toxins then flow out of our colon into our lymph system, and from there into our sinuses, joints, nerves and skin.

Safest drug for pain is cannabis, which actually cures cancers.

I highly recommend The Amazing Liver Cleanse by Andreas Moritz.

I have done seven of these liver cleanses, and every time my pain decreases.
